Monarch DataWorks! Team Captain Monica Munoz-Torres, PhD

The Monarch Initiative, led by team captain Monica Munoz-Torres, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, was awarded a Distinguished Achievement Award for Data Reuse in the first NIH DataWorks! Prize in February 2023. The DataWorks! Prize, a partnership between FASEB and the National Institutes of Health, was established to recognize and incentivize biological and biomedical research teams that integrate data sharing and reuse to advance human health.

On April 25–26, FASEB and the NIH will host an online symposium to share best practices in data sharing and reuse and celebrate the achievements of DataWorks! Prize participants.

As part of this symposium, Monica Munoz-Torres will give a 10-minute presentation about Monarch and also serve as a panelist in the session “Connecting Phenotypes and Genotypes Using Data Science” on April 25 from 1:15–2:00pm EDT.

The symposium is free to attend; register today!
